How a Mask Off League Works​​

Twelve men, one shared season of life

​

Every league is built around a specific stretch — new fatherhood, rebuilding after a divorce or a job loss, recovery. Not because those men need fixing, but because a room where everyone is carrying the same thing gets honest faster than a room where nobody is sure who else is struggling.

You apply. You're not dropped into whatever's open.

​

A real league, not a support group with a roster attached

 

Snake draft. Waivers. Trades. A trade deadline. Trash talk. Someone wins a trophy in December and holds it over everybody until August.

​

If you stripped out everything else, it would still be a good league. That's deliberate. The football has to be real or the rest doesn't work.

 

One call every other week, ninety minutes

 

Fifteen minutes of football to start — bad beats, waiver disasters, who got robbed. Then an hour on that week's topic. Then everyone names one thing they're taking into the week ahead.

Every week has a theme tied to where you are in the season and where you are in your life. Week two is who you were before this started. Week eight is the honest audit. Week twelve is what you want to be remembered for.

​

The football at the front isn't filler. It's the on-ramp. Men who'd never open a support group will happily complain about their kicker, and twenty minutes later they're talking about something else entirely.

A coach in the room — without it feeling like therapy

Justin McClain, LCSW, runs every league. Fourteen years working with men, individually and in groups.

​

You don't have to bring anything up. You don't have to share anything you don't want to. But someone in that room knows what he's doing, and that changes what the room is capable of.

 

August through January, then it's yours

The league runs the NFL season. Twenty-two weeks, start to finish, with a closing call after the championship.

​

What happens after that is up to you. Most of these groups keep talking. That's the whole point — you're not buying five months of access to a platform, you're getting eleven men you actually know.

• Plays fantasy football, or is willing to learn

• Is tired of group chats that stay at "lol nice trade"

• Is in a season of life heavier than he lets on

• Can commit to a call a bi weekly for five months

• Is willing to take of the mask, even a little

It's Not For:

​

• The casual player looking for another league to half-pay attention to

• Anyone who can't make the weekly call — this doesn't work if you're not there

• Men looking for clinical care. This isn't therapy and isn't a substitute for it. If that's what you need, I'd rather help you find a good therapist than sell you a league.

 

How to Get In

 

Every man is vetted. We're not filling twelve seats with whoever shows up — a league only works if everyone in it is actually going to show up.

Take our free five-minute assessment. It helps us understand where you are in life and what kind of locker room fits you best. Most invitations come through this path.

Accepted applicants get a 30-minute call with Justin before anything is confirmed. Either of us can decide it isn't the right fit.

$997 for the season

To celebrate your victory, you and your charity will be highlighted on the podcast—and we’ll dedicate an upcoming episode topic to exploring how your chosen cause connects to mental wellness and resilience.

Standard price goes to $1,600 after the first season. Founding members keep the founding rate if they come back.
